Art + Tech

Pilar has been at the forefront of innovation within the art market since 2019, bridging the gap between creatives and novel technologies while building towards a new creator economy, beyond traditional gatekeeping and biases. As an advocate for equal access, she has been leveraging AR, VR, AI, and Blockchain tech to ensure more people experience and celebrate diverse artistic perspectives (less than 8% of artworks in global cultural institutions are created by women or artists of color due to bias). She has also curated various NFT and analog art exhibitions, working with over 800 Detroit and global artists, reimagining equity in the arts. Her 'Momentum Is Ours' exhibit is featured on the UN's global map for their 'Orange The World' Campaign to end violence against women. Her curated Artwalks utilizing augmented reality technology, have showcased across cities like Detroit, Miami, New York, Austin, Denver and Los Angeles. She regularly speaks at tech conferences and panels, and interviews innovators in the space on the NFTMatters audio series. Her virtual artist tutorials and digital tools have directly onboarded more than 2K Detroit and global artists into the web3 space while she has collaborated with several tech communities to build over 65K enthusiasts across platforms. She has also steered various collections including the Genesis Photography NFT collection and drop of Detroit's Erik Paul Howard, where he was collected by Justin Aversano himself of 'Twin Flames' fame.

Virtual Galleries

Pilar has created various virtual galleries for group exhibitions ranging in size from 17 artists to 269 exhibiting global artists. This technology allows for inclusion of very large numbers of works and vast mediums (including performance) that can be viewed and accessed by patrons and anyone from anywhere in the world.  Shown here is the 'Detroit Moves The World' Virtual Exhibition Gallery on Spatial VR ~2022

Augmented Reality Artwalks

Over the past few years, Pilar has partnered and collaborated with the Illust team on several AR artwalks across six US cities in order to give global artists opportunities to exhibit their work, meet collectors and build digital campaigns around their creative practices. She also uses AR tech to collaborate and build community in both the art and tech spaces globally (over 65K enthusiasts). Shown here is a real world photo of Pilar Cote's 'Li Yukin Lives In America' (mixed media) for Miami Art Week AR Artwalk 2021. It is geolocated at the Art Basel main entrance in Miami FL utilizing augmented reality technology. Over 150 artists exhibited. Curated by Pilar Cote in partnership with https://www.illust.space/
