Spaceblue has participated in the historic Lunaprise Moon Museum mission which is perhaps one of the most important space missions since the Apollo program landing the first man on the surface of the Moon more than 50 years ago. Lunaprise is the world’s first capsule and museum carrying 222 selected artists utilizing Web3, digital twin, and nanotechnology tools for inscribing, engraving, and preserving art pieces. The launch was on a SpaceX Falcon 9 from Kennedy Space Center and on February 22nd, 2024, was the first US mission to land on the Moon since 1972. Pilar Cote is artist #28 and has both art and poetry in the collection.

Artistic Vision

Pilar Côté is a multidisciplinary artist who lives and works in Waawiiyaataanong/ Detroit, MI. She overlaps pop surrealism, portraiture, folk art and abstraction while exploring ideas of feminism, culture, protest and empowerment. She intertwines beauty with darker themes throughout her paintings, sculptures, installations, performance art and spoken word poetry. She draws from a rich heritage to weave stories of resistance, identity, reclamation and self-determination.
